The material

The rug is made of leather labels — small rectangles of thick hide with embossing and print. No two are the same: tanning shades run from honey and russet to near black, the finishes differ, and some pieces keep their coloured inserts and stitching. The patches are butted together and sewn around their edges with contrasting orange thread, which draws a grid of seams across the surface.

Texture and behaviour

The surface is dense and almost flat, but not smooth: leather of varying thickness gives it a slight relief. The sheet stays flexible — the rug rolls up without breaking at the folds, as the photograph with the turned-back corner shows. There is no pile, so dust does not settle in it and furniture leaves no permanent marks.

Two sizes

The 160 by 230 cm format covers the coffee table zone and the front legs of a sofa in a medium room. The 200 by 300 cm version suits a spacious living room or a dining area where the table and chairs need to sit on the rug. The brown palette is practical: everyday dust does not show on it.

Who it suits

This is a piece with a character and a material story, not a neutral floor covering. It belongs in an interior that already has exposed brick, metal or vintage furniture, where it continues the theme. In a plain, light room it will pull attention towards itself instead.
