Dark chocolate is the only genuinely deep brown among the twelve colours of this line. Down at the roots the wool is nearly black, while the tips keep a warm chestnut glow, so photographs of it change noticeably with the light source.
A practical consequence of the dark tone: dust and pale pet hair show immediately, whereas footmarks and small stains barely register. In a hallway that is an advantage; in a room with a white cat it is not.

At 90 cm the piece is distinctly wider than the narrow 70×192 pair, wide enough for both feet when you sit on the edge of a bed. From the warm side of the palette, the powder peach sheepskin 90×180 is its opposite: soft and light where this one holds contrast.
Ordinary laundry powder strips the natural grease from the fibre; after it the wool mats and cannot be combed out. Woven pieces in a similar palette are in modern rugs.
A dark pelt also shrinks a room visually, so in a small bedroom it works better placed towards the centre than pushed against a wall.
