Rug Everest 3358Z, orange-grey

The design

In 3358Z the border does the talking. It is wide and ochre-orange, densely patterned with scrolls, shells and flower buds, and its inner edge is cut in a shaped line like an antique frame. By contrast the grey centre is almost empty: only faint patches lighter and darker than the base tone, like stone or plaster. A thin outer band with a small repeating motif closes the frame.

Two sizes

The 160×230 cm version sits in front of a sofa or across a bed. The 200×300 cm version covers most of a medium living room, so the sofa, armchairs and table can all stand on it. If you are unsure, mark the outline on the floor with masking tape to see where the ochre frame will run.

Material

The pile is acrylic and production is by machine. Acrylic holds its colour, so the ochre border should not fade quickly in daylight. Vacuum along the pile and blot stains without rubbing.

Where it works

Grey with warm ochre goes well with a graphite or sand-coloured sofa, brass lamps and mid-tone wood. In a room of cool white furniture the rug becomes the main warm spot.
