Cotton rug 200×300 blue Andro fiore blue

A blue ground and flowers

“Fiore” means “flower” in Italian, and the design lives up to it. Roses, daisies and small pale blue flowers are scattered over the navy ground, with slender branches and leaves between them. The flower colours are soft: dusty pink, cream, light yellow and pale blue. Thanks to the dark ground they look bright but not gaudy.

The central accent

In the middle of the rug golden scrolls form a symmetrical cartouche around a bouquet of small roses. The design spreads outward from it, so the rug reads as one picture rather than a chance collection of floral patches.

Cotton and machine work

The rug is made by machine from cotton. Cotton is pleasant to the touch, and the dark ground is practical for everyday life. It costs noticeably less than handmade pieces, which is why it is chosen for living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms when a floral pattern is wanted without overpaying.

The navy ground with pink flowers combines well with brass lamps, dark wood and pale upholstery in cream tones. Linen curtains in beige or milk colour soften the rug, while deep dark ones underline its colour. A floral pattern is especially at home in an interior with classic furniture.
