Oval rug 240×340 green wool

This 240×340 oval rug is a solid expanse of grass green with no pattern in the usual sense of the word.

Tone on tone

A grid of stylised palmettes and paired scrolls runs across the upper part of the field, cut deeper than the ground. There is a single dye; the only difference is pile height, so the design appears and disappears depending on where the light falls. The lower third is left smooth, and the transition between the two zones is clearly visible in the full photograph — worth allowing for when you plan the layout.

Green as the leading colour

The shade is closer to grass than to emerald or khaki: on oak flooring it reads warmer, on grey laminate cooler. A plain field does not compete with patterned wallpaper or upholstery, which makes this rug easier to place in a finished room than a figured one. At 240×340 the oval covers a full seating group and softens the corners of a rectangular living room.

A plain field and housekeeping

A plain rug has a drawback: dust, vacuum tracks and pile flattened by furniture legs are all more visible on it. Regular dry cleaning along the pile and small pads under heavy legs deal with most of it. In exchange, a green field hides small debris and pet hair far better than black or ivory would.
